BlackBerry yesterday announced the BlackBerry Passport Trade-Up Program which is taking direct aim at iPhone users. It will run from December 1, 2014 to February 13, 2015 and cover iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, and 6 models. I had a look at what BlackBerry is offering and they’re pretty enticing with up to $600 on the table for iPhone users depending on what model you have. Not only that, there are discounts on unlocked BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Z30 smartphone devices and PayPal financing is available which provides customers with a flexible option to purchase unlocked devices.
Clearly, BlackBerry senses that they have an opportunity to really grab some market share. Let’s see how well it works out for them.

Pre-orders began yesterday for the new BlackBerry Passport in white and a limited edition red color. Customers in North America will be able to purchase red and white BlackBerry Passports on ShopBlackBerry.com and Amazon.com. Additional market availability will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information about BlackBerry Passport, please visit BlackBerry.com/Passport.
In the meantime, I am eagerly awaiting one to arrive today for review purposes. That should be fun.
