Fisker to Open China Delivery Center in 2023 And Starting Deliveries In Q1 2024

Posted in Commentary with tags on June 9, 2023 by itnerd

Fisker Inc. today announced its plans to open a delivery center in China in 2023 and commence deliveries of the Fisker Ocean SUV in Q1 2024. This makes sense because China represents a third of global vehicles sales, which is roughly 26 million cars in 2022, of which electric vehicles represent 6-7 million, around a 25% share. In 2023 year-to-date, that has grown to around 27%.  So that’s a market that Fisker clearly wants a piece of. The company expects to produce 75,000 additional vehicles because of this move.

Fisker’s leadership team recently visited China and met with officials and business leaders in Shanghai to discuss collaborations and opportunities in the region. The conversations focused on automotive supply chains, logistics, warehousing, and future production development.

With a 113 kWh battery pack (106 kWh usable) the $68,999 Fisker Ocean Extreme has an EPA-estimated range of 360 miles on standard 20” wheels and tires; in Europe the Fisker Ocean Extreme has a WLTP range of 707km/440 UK miles on standard 20” wheels and tires, which is the longest range of any electric SUV sold in Europe today. The all-electric SUV starts at $37,499 for the Fisker Ocean Sport trim level.

Fisker Ocean Achieves EPA 360-Mile Range, Longest of Any Electric SUV Under $200,000 in the U.S.

Fisker Inc. has announced that as of May 31,  the all-electric Fisker Ocean Extreme has an Environmental Protection Agency estimated total range of 360 miles on standard 20” wheels and tires, exceeding Fisker’s previous estimates.

The EPA values confirm that the Fisker Ocean Extreme, including the limited edition Fisker Ocean One, has the longest range of any new electric SUV under $200,000 sold in the United States today.

This news follows the Fisker Ocean Extreme’s recent European WLTP certification  of 707 km / 440 UK mile range on standard 20” wheels and tires,  which is the longest range of any electric SUV sold in Europe today.

The Fisker Ocean Extreme has also received both an EPA Certificate of Conformity and a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO), approving the Fisker Ocean Extreme for sale and delivery in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia.

The CARB Executive Order grants the Fisker Ocean Extreme the maximum 4.0 Zero-Emission Vehicle credits per vehicle sold. The Fisker Ocean Extreme recently completed all applicable FMVSS testing required for US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) self-certification and meets New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) standards for a 5-star rating. The Fisker Ocean Extreme has been certified by European authorities for sale in Europe.

The Fisker Ocean Extreme equipped with optional 22” wheels and tires also achieved a WLTP 701 km / 436 UK mile range, demonstrating that performance wheels and tires have  minimal effect on the Fisker Ocean’s range.

The first Fisker Ocean customer took delivery in Denmark on May 5. Deliveries are expected to begin in the United States in June.

As part of Fisker’s mission to create the most sustainable SUV on Earth, the Fisker Ocean Extreme combines its 113kWh Hyper Range battery pack, optimized engineering, and aerodynamic design to produce a powerful, efficient, and responsive SUV with an EPA estimated range to drive from Philadelphia to Boston or Los Angeles to San Jose.

The Fisker Ocean all-electric SUV combines ingenious engineering, innovation, affordability, and sustainability in three versions: Extreme, Ultra, and Sport, with some trims sold out in several launch markets.  The Fisker Ocean also recently wonthe 2023 Red Dot Product Design Award for Best Electric Vehicle.

Fisker has pursued a dual homologation process for the Fisker Ocean in Europe and the US simultaneously, an atypical approach to adjust production and sales based on regional demand.

Also, the Fisker Ocean recently won the prestigious 2023 Red Dot Product Design Award for Best Electric Vehicle.

Fisker Unveils Financing Program

Posted in Commentary with tags on July 7, 2022 by itnerd

Fisker Inc. today announced Fisker Finance℠, a digital financing platform offering seamless and convenient loan purchase options to Fisker customers. The company also reaffirmed the nomination of Chase in the US and Santander Consumer Finance in Europe as retail financing partners, as noted in its February 2022 earnings release, with more announcements to come.

Starting with buyers of the class-leading, limited edition all-electric, five-passenger Fisker Ocean One, the Fisker Finance℠ direct-to-consumer digital platform will enable customers to apply for vehicle financing, receiving competitive, personalized decisions, plus the ability to finance vehicle accessories such as home charging equipment and factory-installed accessories. Production of the Fisker Ocean is on track starting November 2022 at a carbon-neutral factory in Austria.

Customers will be able to navigate the digital loan process at their own pace. Starting with the credit application on fiskerinc.com or Fisker’s app, applicants can select a retail financing structure that best fits their needs. Customers will be able to review their financing details and electronically sign documents online. Following vehicle delivery, Fisker owners can digitally access their account, make payments and obtain personalized customer support.

On July 1, Fisker began offering early reservation holders in select markets the opportunity to secure a Fisker Ocean One by committing to a $5,000 USD deposit.

This pre-order deposit allows Fisker to plan its manufacturing build more accurately, as customers provide information regarding their desired specifications, including exterior and interior colors and accessories. As Fisker schedules production of each vehicle, Fisker Ocean One buyers will finalize pre-order specifications, and the company will assign a specific number ranging from #1 to #5000 to each limited-edition vehicle.

The response to the Fisker Ocean One pre-ordering is extremely positive, and the company is progressing well towards selling out of this exclusive launch edition. Reservation holders opting out of the Fisker Ocean One remain in line for future versions of the emissions-free Fisker Ocean SUV.

Fisker Finance℠ plans to begin offering financing in the fourth quarter of 2022. Fisker expects to nominate financing partners in additional regions, with more announcements to come.
