Prezi Surpasses One Billion Views and 60 Million Customers…. And Partners With Logitech

Posted in Commentary with tags on September 20, 2015 by itnerd

Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, announced it now has more than 60 million users worldwide, that it has the world’s largest public database of presentations–over 190 million public prezis– and that its community’s prezis have been viewed over one billion times. That’s mind blowing if I may say so. For more information on customers using Prezi, please visit https://prezi.com/customers/

Prezi also announced a new co-marketing relationship with Logitech, a leading manufacturer of wireless presenters. Over time, the companies plan to work together on joint marketing activities and integrated solutions that will enable people to create and give more engaging and captivating presentations. This should help them keep on this amazing trajectory that they’re on.

I’ve written about them in the past several times and given these events, I fully expect to be writing about them in the future.

Prezi Announces New Android App

Posted in Commentary with tags on February 24, 2015 by itnerd

I’ve written about Prezi before and up until now, if you wanted to use their cutting edge product on the road, you needed to be an iOS user. That’s changed today as the company has announced an Android version of their app. Key features include:

  • Cloud syncing – Always have the most current version of your prezi, no matter which device it was last worked on.
  • Remote mobile presenting – Invite up to 30 people to a presentation that you can deliver even away from your office.
  • On-the-go access anytime, from anyplace – Full access to saved prezis, prezis found online and those shared by others.
  • Offline access to recently used prezis and to other prezis for inspiration – No Internet connection required, so you can practice on the way to your presentation using your Android device.

The company also notes that it loads faster and smoother than the IOS app. It sounds like it will be a big hit with existing Prezi users on the Android platform who want on the go access to their presentations.

The Prezi app for Android can be downloaded free from the Google Play store today. I’ve also linked to a video showing the app in action.

In Depth: Nutshell

Posted in Commentary with tags on February 10, 2015 by itnerd

I’ve written about Prezi before, and they’re back with a new app. Called Nutshell, it’s a new app for iOS that was released today that allows you to take any moment and turn it into a short, shareable visual story by combining the simplicity of photos with the spatial context of video and the fun of animated graphics. Here’s how simple it is:

First, pick three photos:

Next, it will take those pictures and create a video:

Then you can add titles and animations:

Finally, you can share your creation with the world:

The app is extremely easy to use. I’ve been playing with it for the last few days and making movies, or Nutshells as they’re called, only takes a few steps and the results are great.

Here’s a video that goes into greater detail:

The app is free on the iTunes App Store and is available now. Take a look at it and I think you’ll find an app that you can have fun with.

Prezi Introduces Mobile Presenting

Posted in Commentary with tags on December 11, 2014 by itnerd

Prezi, the presentation platform that I have written about previously, has released a new feature that lets users deliver and watch live presentations in real-time from their mobile devices. The first-of-its-kind app ushers live presenting into the age of mobility, allowing any user to present or follow along from virtually anywhere using their iPhone, iPad, PC, or Mac. With just a few clicks, presenters on the road can now invite up to 30 people in multiple locations to follow their prezis in real-time. In addition, co-presenters can pass control of the presentation to one another seamlessly across devices with a single click, enabling teams to collaborate globally.

Here’s a video of this new feature in action:

The new release comes on the heels of other big announcements from Prezi, including the news that the company has reached the 50-million-user milestone and that it recently secured $57 million in funding from Spectrum Equity and Accel Partners.

Prezi Scores $57 Million Investment

Posted in Commentary with tags on November 19, 2014 by itnerd

I’ve previously done a In Depth look at Prezi which makes a cutting edge presentation package, thus it got my attention when I heard that they got a significant capital investment of $57 million. Here are the key details:

Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, announced today that it has received a $57 million investment from Spectrum Equity, a leading growth equity firm, with participation from existing investor, Accel Partners. Spectrum, whose previous investments include prominent subscription-based businesses such as Ancestry.com, SurveyMonkey and Lynda.com, led the financing. Prezi plans to use this investment to accelerate its rapid global growth.  The company also announced today that it has surpassed 50 million users,  nearly doubling in the past 12 months.  With more than 160 million prezis created to date, Prezi has the world’s largest publicly available presentation database.

Looking at whom Spectrum Equity has invested in, they clearly have a track record of picking winners. Thus this might be a sign that Prezi is on the road to something big. I guess we’ll have to keep an eye on them to find out.
