Seeing as I was born in the UK, I have to shake my head at the fact that not once, but twice this week, BT has taken millions of customers offline due to issues on “their end.”
The first one was yesterday as BT customers were taken offline, and they didn’t come back until later in the evening. The case was a power issue at one of their internet peering partners’ sites in London. The second outage happened today when a power failure occurred at Telehouse North, a connection run by a separate company. Here’s the ironic part. Earlier this week, BT was told to get its act together by UK MP’s because it had failed to properly invest in its infrastructure.
So, they’re called out by MPs and the this happens. Am I the only person who thinks that this is an epic PR disaster?
