Primus sent me some news yesterday that got my interest. They’ve announced that they have a mobile softphone app for iPhone & Android. Here’s why you should pay attention:
Primus Softphone enables Hosted PBX (HPBX) customers to recreate the “in-office” experience and allows users make and receive high-quality voice calls from their computers or mobile devices via a Wi-Fi or 3G/4G mobile data connection, thereby improving productivity and minimizing costs by offloading calls to Wi-Fi in places such as offices, airports and hotels.
Travelers using mobile devices without U.S. roaming rate plans can typically expect to pay up to $1.45/minute (plus taxes) on roaming charges – that’s over $43 for a 30 minute call. With a Primus Softphone, customers will see these immediate savings.
Primus Softphone seamlessly integrates with Hosted PBX, giving users complete control to modify HPBX features like Call Forwarding from their mobile softphones. Users can access time saving features such as four-digit extension calling, company voicemail, call transfers and audio conferencing, as well as move calls between their desktop and mobile softphones via a call continuity feature.
In these economic times, the ability to do more and pay less is always a good thing. Primus Softphone is available to HPBX customers for a one-time fee of $19.99 CDN from iTunes and Google Play app stores or by visiting Primus’ HPBX portal for the $25 desktop version at https://voice.primus.ca.
Primus Permanently Removes Data Overage Charges On All Internet Plans
Posted in Commentary with tags Primus on February 23, 2021 by itnerdFollowing the recent acquisition of Primus Telecommunications by Distributel Communications Limited, comes more good news from this award-winning independent service provider: Primus is permanently removing data overage charges on all of their capped internet plans.
Earlier this year, Distributel brought together the strength of two prominent Canadian telecom companies through their acquisition of Primus to build an even stronger brand. The acquisition not only brings customers greater access to residential and business services, but it also continues the great traditions that Distributel has established – ones that offer fairness and greater value to Canadians from coast to coast.
Primus temporarily removed data overage charges in March 2020, but today they join Distributel as the only large ISP to make this decision permanent, thereby eliminating all internet overage fees.
This decision will help Canadians who are working from home, learning from home or staying connected from home without ever worrying about the costs associated with their internet plan.
This change is effective immediately across all capped plans, and no further customer action is required.
