QuikView For iPad Hits The Street

A Canadian software developer called Zod Studios e-mailed me a press release this afternoon announcing an app for iPad called QuikView. Here’s what you need to know about it:

With QuikView your essentially creating your own personal news hub. You get to choose the content that you want, what the layout of that page will look like, and even how many pages you want to have. Instead of news apps limiting the content you look at, QuikView allows you to fully customize that information to meet your own needs. Unlike other apps out there, QuikView is all about viewing information at a glance. Being able to browse through various types of content with the flip of a finger.

The app currently comes with 3 data feeds to choose from including an RSS Reader, YouTube and Twitter. Zod Studios will be adding Facebook into the mix very soon along with many others once they begin getting feedback from their users. If you don’t want to wait for them to make a data feed don’t worry because soon they will also allow third party developers the ability to create their own. QuikView is now available on the App Store for $1.99.

Interesting Features
– stream video to your AppleTV while you browse articles on your iPad
– create multiple pages with custom layouts
– group YouTube subscriptions into categories
– watch/listen to YouTube and read articles at the same time

I have to admit that this sounds very interesting. I don’t have an iPad, but at $1.99, it sounds like it’s worth getting. Check it out on the app store here or see what it looks like 0n the Zod Studios website here.
